Tarot Card Reading

on Sunday, April 24, 2011
Tarot card readings are usually done with the use of special cards called tarot cards. Unlike the ordinary playing cards, a tarot deck contains 78 cards with each card containing different symbolic features. Fourteen of these cards have suits which are similar to those in the regular playing cards. These are called the Minor Arcana. The Major Arcana, on the other hand, is composed of 22 cards. These cards are used for divination, problem solving, self-improvement, fortune telling, and understanding.

The tarot has four suits  (which vary by region, being the familiar French suits in Northern Europe, the Spanish suits in Southern Europe, and the German suits in Central Europe). Each of these suits has pip cards numbering from ace to ten and four face cards  for a total of 14 cards. In addition, the tarot is distinguished by a separate 21-card trump suit and a single card known as the Fool. Depending on the game, the Fool may act as the top trump or may be played to avoid following suit.

Reading one’s future has always been an exciting thing for many people. Both young and old find having an idea of what is going to happen in the future a challenge and a thrill. People, in fact, buy newspapers and magazines everyday to find out their horoscopes or destiny. They devote time seeing psychics that let them into the realm of psychic reading. However, the most common tool the psychics use for reading your future is the tarot cards.

The first known tarot cards were created between 1430 and 1450 in Milan, Ferrara and Bologna in northern Italy when additional trump cards with allegorical illustrations were added to the common four-suit pack. These new decks were originally called carte da trionfi, triumph cards, and the additional cards known simply as trionfi, which became "trumps" in English. The first literary evidence of the existence of carte da trionfi is a written statement in the court records in Ferrara, in 1442.  The oldest surviving tarot cards are from fifteen fragmented decks painted in the mid 15th century for the Visconti-Sforza family, the rulers of Milan. These were even used for divination, but as time passed, it evolved and eventually became the tool for reading one’s future. However, many people are still pessimistic despite the many years of practice by tarot card readers. They remain skeptical about the accuracy of such readings.

So how do we exactly get an accurate tarot card reading? What do we ought to remember so that the tarot readings we have are free from biases?
First thing to do concerns the reader. The tarot card reader has to remember to have a specific point of view. This will strengthen the will power and the stand of the psychic. Moreover, the point of view will also allow the readings to be clearer. In order to do this, he must trust his intuition. Normally, the very first answer to comes to mind is the intuitive answer. When the question calls only for a yes or no answer, then the most consistent answer is the most honest one.
